Kristi Ann Wessel, 67, of Ammon, passed away peacefully in her sleep with her husband at her side September 25, 2024, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital after a short battle with cancer.

Kristi was born February 10, 1957, in Provo, Utah, to Patsy Ann Schardine. She grew up and attended schools in Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduated from Forest Park High School. She initially pursued a degree in chemical engineering from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, she changed her major to mathematics, and, later in life, went back to BYU to earn her bachelor’s degree in history.

On August 14, 1976, she married Scott Richard Wessel in Sunnyvale, California, and for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Kristi and Scott made their home in Ammon, Idaho, where they raised their family and ran a small business together.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a temple ordinance worker, teacher, and choir director. She enjoyed ballet and was a member of the Ballet Society and the Idaho Falls School of Ballet. She loved to travel and to try different types of foods.

Kristi is survived by her husband, Scott Wessel of Ammon, Idaho; daughter, Jamie (David) Hanson of Ammon, Idaho; son, Jacob (Becky) Wessel of Ammon, Idaho; son, Nathan (Joanne) Wessel of Idaho Falls, Idaho; son, Ryan (Ambre) Wessel of Syracuse, Utah; daughter, Krislyn (Kevan) Willes of Happy Valley, Oregon; son, Chase (Bri) Wessel of Iona, Idaho; 24 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; her brother, Bryan Shae Dolan, and her sister, Lorna Bass, both living in the Cincinnati, Ohio area.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Patsy Ann Barringer; sister, Alison Helton; and brother, Mark Bass.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Summerwood Ward Building, 1925 East 49th South. Her friends and all that knew her are invited to a viewing from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
