Lacy Rucker Allphin (42), after a courageous three-year battle, peacefully succumbed to lung cancer in her home surrounded by her family and father on August 28, 2024. Born on August 23, 1982, in Mesa, Arizona, Lacy’s life was not nearly long enough, but was filled with love and adventure. She spread joy to all who knew her.

Lacy graduated from Westwood High School, class of ’00. After high school she attended Scottsdale Community College where she received her certificate as a pastry chef. Shortly after graduation, her adventurous side took her to Yellowstone National Park where she worked at the Lake Hotel restaurant for the summer. There she met Chris Allphin, who was also working at Lake for the summer. She would later say “this summer fling would last for eternity.” They were sealed in the Mesa temple for time and eternity on December 21, 2002.

The adventure continued as they moved from Utah to Saba Island in the Caribbean. After two years in paradise, they moved back to Utah, then Greeley, Colorado, and Mesa, Arizona while Chris completed medical school and their family grew. After four years in Saint Louis, Missouri, they moved back to the mountains to Idaho Falls, Idaho, just a few hours’ drive from where they met. Several years later, they made their forever home in Shelley, Idaho, where she lived until her death.

Lacy was spunky, creative, crafty, and a DIY queen. She had a gift for turning worn out and ugly things into beautiful and useful treasures. She loved to decorate her home and looked forward to decorating for every holiday. She also loved to travel and was able to see the world, but her favorite places to visit were Disney parks and Yellowstone. She cared deeply for others and always tried to take care of them before herself.

Lacy loved the color pink. It was the perfect foil for her red hair and bright blue eyes. Many knew her for her love of pink, and her pink Jeep could be seen on the country roads at any time of day.

Most of all, Lacy loved her family. She was devoted to Chris and their children. From Sunday crepes to personalized Christmas trees and Lego collections, she went out of her way to make life fun and adventurous for those she held dear.

She is survived by her loving husband, Chris Allphin; their four children, Canyon, Sheridan, Colter and Cache; her parents, Doug and Betty Rucker; four siblings, Skeeter (Jerod) Allen, Scott (Heather) Rucker, Brice Rucker, and Shandi Rucker; her in-laws, Don and Jeri Allphin, Donovan and Jennifer Allphin, Mark and Talara Allphin, and Kara and Bryan Reichert; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Taylor 3rd Ward, 1101 East 1250 North, Shelley, Idaho. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2024, and from 12:00 p.m. t0 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Both visitations will be at the church. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery. For those that choose to attend, we ask that you wear as much pink as you can.

Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
