Linda Lee (Wylie Barton) Franck

Linda Lee (Wylie Barton) Franck passed away in Idaho Falls on September 17, 2024.  She was born July 31, 1947, to Rex C Rowbury and Nina Louise Lyon in Blackfoot, ID.  She joined her older sister Louise.  A brother (Charlie) and 2 sisters (Debbie & Rhonda) later joined the family.  She attended school in the Blackfoot area and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1965.  

When she was 19, she married Jerry Crabb and they moved to Colorado.  They divorced after about 18 months.  She met Orveal John Wylie at a singles dance and they married a short time later on September 17, 1969 (later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple) and she became an instant mom to 2 daughters (Brenda (Jim) & Sherry (Randy)) and 5 sons (Don, Grant, Kevin (Janet), Leslie (Cathy), Glen (HeeJae).  To this union 2 sons were born, John (Mary) & Robert (Catrina). Along the way she also gained a bonus daughter, Lucy.

She assisted Orveal with his business as bookkeeper and owned her own word processing business for a short time.  Orveal passed away in 2000.  

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  After Orveal passed she had the opportunity to serve as a temple worker in the Idaho Falls Temple.  While the younger boys were growing up, she worked at Ricks College/BYU-Idaho in a couple of different departments.  After 26 years she retired in 2004.  She was working in Continuing Education as the office manager at that time.  

Shortly before she retired, she met John Barton (JB), who was renting the old shop in Thornton.  They married June 10, 2004, she picked up a few more kids, 2 daughters (Kaylynn (Scott) & Jenny (Josh), 3 sons (Mike, Jared (Patti) & Preston (Heidi)).  She helped JB with his equine massage business until his health wouldn’t allow it.  JB passed away in 2012.

In 2019, Theda Gray, her neighbor introduced Linda to her brother David. They hit it off and they were married April 27, 2019.  Gaining 4 more children (Kirk (Deanise), Brett (Cathy), Katie (Kris) & Teena (Jared), 4 bonus Butler kids (Ryan, Dedra, Beau, Curtis).  Linda and David have spent the last five years traveling around the country from Alaska to Maine to Florida and spending their winters in Yuma, AZ & Texas, enjoying being together.  

She is survived by her husband David, all 23 children and too many grandchildren, great grandchildren & great great grandchildren to count.  Preceded in death by her parents, brother Charlie, husbands Orveal & John.  There are also so many other kids that she claimed as her own.  

Funeral services will be Monday September 23, at 11 am in the Menan Idaho Stake Center (Annis Ward) at 698 North 3600 East Menan, ID.  The family will meet with friends on Sunday the 22nd at 7-9 pm and at 9-10:45 am the morning of the funeral both at the Menan Stake Center.  Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery in Ammon, ID (2508 E Lincoln Rd, Ammon, ID 83401)
