Lloyd Fred Chadburn was born on June 7, 1942, to Fred and Alta Johnson Chadburn at the Idaho Falls Hospital in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He passed away on July 5, 2024, at his home in Sellers Creek, Idaho, of natural causes.

Lloyd grew up on a farm in Jameston township, outside of Shelley, as the third of six children. He attended Jameston Elementary School through eighth grade and graduated from Shelley High School. A hard worker, Lloyd loaded potatoes on boxcars for the RT French Company in Shelley, Idaho, after high school until he joined the Air Force in 1963. He enlisted at Fort Douglas in Salt Lake City, Utah, and completed basic training in San Antonio, Texas. Lloyd served valiantly in the Air Force for four years, mainly in Anchorage, Alaska, and Las Vegas, Nevada, as a Military Policeman. He was recognized as a master marksman. After an honorable discharge, Lloyd worked for 25 years at Carl Gray Tire, continuing as the Service Store Manager for Jack’s Tire after they acquired Carl Gray Tire, until his retirement. If someone owned a truck or worked in agriculture, they knew Lloyd.

In 1968, Lloyd met the love of his life, Kathleen Everett, through his sister Carolyn. They were married on May 1, 1971, in Idaho Falls, and recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. They were sealed together as a family in the Idaho Falls Temple on September 22, 1979. Lloyd and Kathleen raised their six beautiful children in Shelley, Idaho, before building their home in Sellers Creek in 2003.

Lloyd was an avid outdoorsman who loved to camp, fish, and hunt. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in several callings. Known for his kindness, Lloyd often helped strangers in need with a ride, a meal, or a good story.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Everett Chadburn; children, Jodi (Howard) Bateman, Jennifer (Michael) Pettingill, Clinton (Robin) Chadburn, Ashley (Michael) Colvin, Russell Chadburn, and Randi (Benjamin) Cantu; sixteen grandchildren; and siblings, Joyce Campbell, Ralph (Tina) Chadburn, Ranae (George) Parker, and Carolyn (Bryant) Anderson.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Gwen and Keith Lusk; and brother-in-law, Clark Campbell.

The family would like to thank Brio Home Health and Hospice for their exceptional care, and friends and family for their support during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Comore Loma Ward Chapel, 4375 E. Sunnyside Road, Ammon, Idaho 83406. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m. at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak Street, in Shelley and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. till 12:45 p.m. at the church.
