Lois T. Andersen was born August 28, 1928 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Theora Cooper Fields and Elmer Lindholm. She was the oldest of 5 siblings. She left her earthly body on September 7, 2024. Just a few days after her 96th birthday.

Lois grew up in the Iona area where she attended elementary school, before moving to Kaysville, Utah, with her mother and siblings where she attended junior high. They moved to El Paso, Texas, where she attended and graduated from high school.

In 1946 she met Jack Elwin Jones. They married on August 24, 1946, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. They moved to Richland, Wash., in November of that year. This union was blessed with a son, James Eric Andersen. The marriage later ended in divorce. She and Eric moved back to the Iona area and she met Lloyd Osborne Andersen. They were married on November 10, 1950, their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. To this union, a daughter was born, Theora LaRee Andersen. The family settled in the Clark Ward area near Rigby Idaho. Lois was very active in the LDS church, she held many callings and enjoyed being part of the Clark Ward Community. She also worked in the Idaho Falls Temple for 20 years.

After returning to the Iona area, she had various jobs. She was a clerk at Woolworths and J.C Penney, and then she worked at Challenge Dairy as a bookkeeper. She finished out her working career with the U.S, Forest Service on the Caribou National Forest, where she worked for over 30 years. Lois and Lloyd also owned and operated Andersen Honey Farm.

She was a very hardworking, kind and compassionate person. If she was not at work, she was performing some kind of service for others. It didn’t matter if it was a co-worker, a church member, or just someone down on their luck. She would be there to support them in whatever way she could. Many people in the area have been able to enjoy her amazing meals, and feel the comfort of her love and support. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening and reading.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years Lloyd O. Andersen; her sister Sharon Coyle and her brother Tom Hilleshiem; Two grandchildren Trevor J. Andersen and Karissa Ann Richardson. She is survived by her son Eric (Judy) Andersen of Rigby, her daughter LaRee (Brett) Lundberg of Idaho Falls.
