Lyle Jay Cottle, age 88, of Menan, Idaho passed away peacefully August 16, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Jay was born December 22, 1935, a son to Lyle Henry and Winnie Hoggan Cottle. After high school, Jay continued his education on to Utah State and Rick’s College.

Jay married Orial Taylor on April 9, 1958, he was a loving and dedicated husband of 66 years. Together they had two daughters and four sons. He dedicated his time and love to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jay was a Farmer/Rancher, where he farmed on the original Cottle homestead in Menan.

Jay was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served his mission in the “Western States Mission”. After his mission, he served in many leadership positions.

Jay is survived by his wife, Orial Taylor Cottle of Menan, Idaho, Daughters JoEllen (Rob) Anderson of Menan, Idaho, Kaynel (Jeff) Chase of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Sons Jeff (Jody) Cottle of Rigby, Idaho, David (Lori) Cottle of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Darin (Anita) Cottle of Menan, Idaho, Alan (Kim) Cottle of Menan, Idaho, 21 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren. Sisters Jan Gleason of Draper, Utah, and Barbara (Dean) Hancock of Menan, Idaho.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Lyle Henry and Winnie Hoggan Cottle, sister Lorna Shippen, Brother-in-law Ronald Shippen, Brother-In-Law Jim Gleason, and a nephew Scott Gleason.

Services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024, 11:00 AM, at the Menan Red Brick Church (3547 East Menan Lorenzo Hwy). A visitation will be held Friday, August 23, 2024 from 6:00-7:30, with a visitation prior to the service from 9:30-10:45 at Menan Red Brick Church. Interment to follow at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
