Margaret Jane Knudsen, 85, of Idaho Falls died Tuesday, January 21, 2025 in Abilene, Texas from complications of COPD. Margaret will be dearly missed by her family.

Margaret was born in Idaho Falls to Elda and Anton Anderson on December 16, 1939. She was educated in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1958. She studied nursing at Sacred Heart Hospital with her twin sister Margery and began working shortly after.

In December of 1960, She met the love of her life on a blind date and married Doren Knudsen two weeks later on December 16, 1960 in Elko, Nevada. They shared many interests together, camping, fishing, bowling and time with family. They tried to not let Doren’s illness from multiple sclerosis stand in the way of any possible adventures.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in Primary and Relief Society presidencies. Their family was sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple 1976.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Doren, brother Merle (Louann) Anderson and twin sister Margery (Gilbert) Howard.

Margaret is survived by her daughters Susan (Brad) Scholes, Rebecca (Jerry) Shaughnessy. Her two brothers Robert (Kerry) Anderson and Larry (Darlene) Anderson. She has eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Rosehill Cemetery at a later date.
