Margie Jensen, 95, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 8, 2024, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She slipped away gracefully, the same as she lived life, surrounded by love and support from her children.

Margie was born December 7, 1928, in Teton, Idaho, the third of eight children, to Thomas Edward and Genevieve (Rhodes) Baker. Her siblings were her best friends; they learned to work and play on the farm, developing important life skills. Growing up she attended schools in Teton, Idaho, Willard, Utah, and St. Anthony, Idaho. In 1946 she graduated from Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho. Margie attended Ricks College where she earned her Associates Degree in Business, then continued her education at Idaho Business College.

She loved working as a secretary. Margie worked for several law firms, a dentist, a bank, accounting firms, and finally as an office manager for Logan Farm Equipment, retiring after 26 years.

On September 3, 1951, she married Wendell Elias Jensen in Elko, Nevada. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 25, 1954. Temple service was very important to them and they tried to attend often. She taught her children service through her faithful example as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She diligently served in numerous leadership capacities in Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women.

They purchased their forever home in Idaho Falls, where they lived their entire lives, raising three girls and one boy, Kaye Lynn, JoAnn, Lonny, and Trina. Spending time with their children was their priority. As a family they loved the outdoors. Often going on camping adventures, finding perfect swimming spots and when winter came they were busy sledding, ice skating, and enjoying family time together.

Margie was very organized and being a career mom suited her well. Home was a gathering place for holidays, filled with fun traditions. To those living far away or serving missions she wrote wonderful encouraging letters and remembered every birthday with a special card. She loved to scrapbook family memories and assembled a photo binder for her children, grandchildren, and their growing families. Margie paid special attention to details by journaling in her beautiful handwriting. These albums will be special treasures for all her family.

When grand and great grandchildren started building her family circle, she took special interest in each and every one. Her home office became a “portrait gallery” of family members each labeled with their name. She loved playing games and spending time with her growing family. Her sense of humor would take them by surprise. She knew how to have fun with them and always supported their life events. Margie will be remembered for her love of life, family, compassion for others, and great faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Margie is survived by her daughter Kaye Lynn (Michael) Beeler of Valparaiso, IN; daughter, JoAnn (Kim) Petersen of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Trina (Jeff) Summers of Chandler, AZ; daughter-in-law, Sharon (Steven) Ricks of Basalt, ID; sisters, Helen Jones of Menan, ID, Beverly (Billy) Green, Louise Baker of Rexburg, ID; brothers, T. Kay Baker of Rexburg, ID, and Reed Baker of Sandy, UT; 21 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Genevieve Baker; husband, Wendell Elias Jensen; son, Lonny Wendell Jensen; granddaughter, Lindsay Marie Summers; sisters, Lucille Worlton and Bonnie Withers.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the Idaho Falls Rose Park Ward, 1165 Azalea Dr, with Bishop Nathan Jagielski officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday, October 15, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave, and Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
