Mariellen Longhurst Drollinger
May 10th, 1949 - April 11th, 2025
Mariellen Longhurst Drollinger, 75, of Iona, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at her home. She was under the care of her family and Brio Hospice.
Mariellen was born on May 10, 1949, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ernest Glen Longhurst and Marian Wadsworth Longhurst. She grew up in Iona, Idaho, and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1967.
On April 15, 1967, she married her sweetheart Terry Drollinger in Idaho Falls, and they were married for 52 years when Terry passed away on June 13, 2019. Together, they had three children: Darrin, Ammie, and Jon.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She lived in Iona her whole life. She worked at Mountain Bell and Avis and was the owner of Tom’s Candy Company. She also worked at Wonder Bread, Ernie’s Café, and School District 93 as a bus driver. She enjoyed horseback riding, spending time at her parents’ cabin in Palisades, and at their family cabin in Bone. Spending time with family was extremely important to her, from her younger years with her parents and sisters to her husband and kids, grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren. She especially loved having family over for the holidays.
Mariellen is survived by her children: Darrin Drollinger of Idaho Falls, Ammie (Derek) Brown of Rexburg, and Jon (Sarah) Drollinger of Rigby; her sisters: Glenda Hinkley of Iona, Jeralyn (Gary) Messenger of Idaho Falls, and Coy Lou Stephens of Iona; her grandchildren: Macklin Stroud of Idaho Falls, Bowdee (Tylee) Drollinger of Idaho Falls, Mersadies (Cordell) Barnard of Ririe, Bryon (Lisa) Fisher of Milo, Kaeleigh (Reese) Brown of Iona, Makenlee Drollinger of Rigby, and Traeson Drollinger of Rigby; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Drollinger; her parents, Ernest Glen and Marian Longhurst; her in-laws, Max and Mary Ellen Drollinger, George and Mozell Cauble, and Ada Drollinger; brother, Thomas Longhurst; sister, LeAnn Butikofer; brothers-in-law, Carl Hinkley, Reed Stephens, KB Butikofer, and Ty Silva; and son-in-law Thomas Fisher.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., April 26, 2025, at the Iona Stake Center, 7555 North 55th East. A viewing will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., April 25, 2025, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to services at the church.
