Marrietta Lucille Haskell Dennis

Born in Payson, Utah on May 5, 1938, to Henry James Haskell and Ida Lucille Haskell (Box). She died at the age of 86 on March 24, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Marrietta passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, due to health conditions incidental to age.

She is survived by her eternal companion, Ronald Mitchell Dennis, to whom she was married in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1957, her six children, Ronald James (Kimberly), Debra Ann Twitchell (Ronald), Alan Wayne (Kim), Michael William, John Henry (Julianne), Robert Haskell (Kammie), 30 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and her brother Stanley. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Clyde, Ronald, and Steven.

Marrietta was a wonderful wife and mother who loved and cared for everyone. Marrietta lived a life of service. She served many years in the scouting program, and many other church callings. She and her husband, Ron served four full-time Church missions. They directed the Adam-Ondi-Ahman Mission; CES Belgium-Brussels-Netherlands; Heber Valley, Utah Girls Camp; and Bing Canyon, Washinton, Trek Camp. She and Ron also served many years in the Idaho Falls and Rexburg Temples.

Marrietta and Ron raised most of their family in Orem, Utah, then moved to Rexburg (Hibbard), Idaho in 1981, when Ron became a faculty member at Ricks College. Her presence will be missed but her influence will continue.

The family would like to thank the EIRMC doctors, nurses, and staff, as well as Aspen Home Health & Hospice for their wonderful attention and care.

A viewing will be held in her honor at Flamm Funeral Home, in Rexburg, Idaho, on Thursday, March 27, 5:30–7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Friday, at the Henry’s Fork Stake Center at 12:00 p.m. A viewing will be held prior to the service 10:30–11:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Rexburg, Idaho Cemetery.
