Max Isaacson
March 19th, 1942 - October 10th, 2024
Max John Isaacson, aka Bullet, 82, passed away peacefully October 10, 2024, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family.
Max was born on March 19, 1942 to Carl & Lorraine Isaacson in Malad, Idaho. He graduated from Malad High School in 1961.
He was called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Southwest Indian Mission that covered New Mexico and Arizona where he learned to speak Navajo. In 1965, he enlisted with the United States Army and served our country during the Vietnam War.
Upon his return, he attended Ricks College where he had a dancing scholarship. There he met his sweetheart Karen Marie Bevans. They were married in the Cardston Alberta Temple on December 20, 1969. They made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
After retiring from driving bus for the INEL, Max and Karen served a mission in Lubbock, Texas, focusing on genealogy.
Max liked to try out new things. He was a talented dancer, genealogist, a pool playing shark, and enjoyed ceramics and deer hunting.
Max is survived by his wife Karen Isaacson of Idaho Falls; his children Cory (Stephanie) Isaacson, Todd (Cindy) Isaacson, Clint (Amy) Isaacson, Tina Isaacson, and Kari Isaacson; sister, Dawnie Hayden of Dallas, TX; 18 grandchildren and four, almost five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the Westhill Ward Chapel, 2040 Brentwood Drive, with Bishop Atwood officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue, and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by American Legion Post 65 and the Idaho Honor Guard.
