Melvin Paul Siler, 63, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 19, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society Idaho Falls Village. He was under the care of Aspen Hospice.

Melvin was born January 5, 1960, in Rigby, Idaho, to Lester William Siler and Myrtle Willina Rogers Siler. He grew up and attended schools in Roberts and graduated from Terreton High School.

On November 7, 1981, he married Denise Lynne Harvey. They were later divorced.

On August 17, 1984, he married Penny Taylor Roberts in Idaho Falls Temple. Melvin and Penny made their home in Roberts, Idaho, where Melvin worked as a salesman and delivery driver for Falls Feed and Peaches Pets.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a church mission in California. He enjoyed his pets, landscaping, reading, playing chess, and eating pizza.

Melvin is survived by his loving wife, Penny Siler of Idaho Falls, ID; children, Heather Marie Langerman of Idaho Falls, ID, Benjamin Paul Siler of Idaho Falls, ID, and Christopher Brandon (Carly) Siler of Germany, siblings, Beverly (David) Richins of Idaho Falls, ID, Clella (Neal) Iverson of Meridian, ID, Grant (Vickie) Siler of Bullhead City, AZ, and Rosemarie (Gary) Staten of AZ; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Ada Jensen, and a brother, Roger Siler.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2023, at the Idaho Falls North Stake Center, 955 Memorial Drive, with Bishop Dave Wilding officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
