Ramon Richard Howard, 94, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 11, 2024, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Ramon was born June 30, 1929, in Lawrence, Kansas, to Fred Donald Howard and Marguerite Cox Howard. He lived in Kansas until he was three years old, then moved to Idaho Falls where he attended school. He later attended Presbyterian College in Hastings, Nebraska, and graduated from Idaho State University. He taught school in Cortez, CO, and Browning, MT. He then worked for Rogers Brothers and Basic American Foods.

He was a member of the Presbyterian church where he sang for many years in the choir and enjoyed many friendships there. He also sang with the Idaho Falls Opera Company. He was a gifted writer and loved to write poetry. He treasured time at the family cabin in Montana on the Gallatin River and walking everywhere.

Ramon is survived by his sister-in-law, Nancy K. Howard of Idaho Falls, ID, and 13 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, William, Robert, and James and his sister, Peggy.

There will be a Celebration of Ramon’s life at the family cabin on the Gallatin River, 6 miles north of Big Sky, Montana, milepost 54, on Thursday, July 5, 2024 at about 2:00 p.m.
