Robert Larry “Bob” Rish, 80, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 30, 2025, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital.

Bob was born September 22, 1944, in Norfolk, NE, to Harley Allen Rish and Mary A. Tryon Rish. He grew up and attended schools in Winner, SD as well as Idaho Falls, ID. He graduated from O.E. Bell Idaho Falls High School.

On June 18, 1963, he married Merrilyne S. Dennis in Bellflower, CA. Bob and Merrilyne made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he worked as a mechanic for Volkswagon and then an electronic tech for Sears.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and music was his passion.

Bob is survived by his wife, Merrilyne Rish; son, Robert L. Rish, son, Michael Wayne Rish, daughter, Laura Marie Ogren; grandson, Robert Rish III, grandson, Zachery Rish, grandson, Josh Ogren, grandson, Tyler Ogren, grandson, Hunter Ogren; sister-in-laws, Sonja Rish, Donna Rish, brother in law, Leroy Dennis; and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Mary Rish; grandparents; and brothers, Gary L. Rish, and Harley D. Rish.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 12-12:45 p.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard. A Celebration of Life will be held following the services at 4 p.m. at The Eagles Lodge, 635 Hemmert Ave.
