Ronn Smith Allen, (Ronn”E”Boy) 70, of Idaho Falls/Salmon, Idaho passed away September 19, 2024, after a battle with Mesothelioma (a lung cancer caused by asbestos in his early years as an electrician). Ronn died in the comfort of his own home in the early morning with his wife by his side.

Ronn was born to Paul and Betty Allen of Salmon, ID. He was the 3rd of 4 children. He grew up in Salmon and graduated from Salmon High School in 1972. He then served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in New Zealand where he learned to love the people he served.

He married Belinda Carter (Allen) Vandergriff in 1974 and they started their family of 4 beautiful girls: Sheralee, Mindy, Shanae, and Megan. They were later divorced.

Ronn Started Ronn Allen Electric Inc. in 1996.

Ronn then met Cozzett Bates Allen (Cozy) in 1997. They bought a home on Surrey Lane in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Where they lived for 23 years, they had both been married before and Cozy had 4 children of her own: Chyllia Doney, Terren Doney, Brittani Cleverley, and Curtis Cleverley.

After 3 years together they decided “It just might work” so they married on May 24, 2000.

They were pretty much inseparable. Ronn took care of the work portion of Ronn Allen Electric, Inc. and Cozy took care of all the office stuff. They worked together, played together, raised and supported the kids together, and of course lived together.

Ronn and Cozy enjoyed many camping trips. Later they discovered a love of motorcycle trips with friends as well. And then they bought the Cozy”R“Ranch in Carmen, ID where they spent time making it their own little private oasis. Ronn and Cozy made some awesome lifelong friends through these adventures.

In January 2000, they hired a new Journeyman Electrician, Michael L. Jensen. Over the next few years, Mike became more of a son than an employee. They loved and welcomed him to their little family. That makes 9 children, 26 grandchildren, and 5 ¾ great-grandchildren.

In 2019, Ronn retired from the business leaving Mike and Cozy to take over the business aspects of Ronn Allen Electric Inc. and leaving Ronn plenty of free time to manage the Cozy R, in Carmen. He loved feeding the fish in the ponds and catching fish on the Salmon River.

Ronn and Mike spent most weekends fishing and surely telling the “one that got away” stories. Mike was a lot of help with the property and spent as much time as possible helping Ronn and Cozy at the Cozy R ranch in Carmen.

Ronn Loved the outdoors! He loved to fish, hunt, and camping. He loved the motorcycle trips with Cozy and his friends! He also loved to do woodworking. He was amazing when it came to the lathe and carving and painting his beautiful fish. He made some pieces of furniture as well.

Ronn is survived by his wife (Partner in Crime), Cozzett Allen; his first wife, Belinda Carter Vandergriff; his daughters: Sheralee McCool, Mindy Pryor (Andy) Shanae Allen, and Megan Evans (Chad); stepchildren: Chyllia (Alan) Judy, Terren (Amber) Doney, Brittani Cleverley, and Curtis Cleverley; his son, Michael Jensen; sister, Pamela Ziegler; and brother, Gary Allen.

Ronn was preceded in death by his sister, Yvonne (Blaine) Higley; grandson, Everette Paul Taylor; mother, Betty Smith Allen; and father, Paul Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the Home Ranch Ward, 2051 S. Emerson, Idaho Falls. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2024, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to services at the church.
