Scott Neal Lewis
July 26th, 1958 - April 20th, 2024
Scott Neal Lewis, 65 died of complications due to a stroke on April 20, 2024, in his beautiful home on Sage Lakes Golf Course, in Idaho Falls. Scott was attended by his wife, daughters, granddaughter, son, and son-in-law during his final days.
Scott was born in Idaho Falls on a sunny July day by the Snake River. His parents Merlin Dee and Joy raised him in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints alongside his four siblings; Merlene, Karen, Brian, and Daren. Growing up Scott had a close-knit family that instilled in him the values of love, compassion, and hard work.
He worked hard to become an Eagle Scout and was an incredible athlete. Scott lettered in baseball and was also a talented golfer and bowler, with trophies to prove it! He played in golf tournaments and in bowling leagues into his twilight years.
Scott caught his future wife’s eye, Laurie, while playing baseball. She had to meet the hitter who had just stolen second base. The two were officially introduced while working together at INL.
Scott started his career in computer technology at a young age. His degree in Electrical Engineering led him to Idaho National Laboratories. He received numerous accolades and recognition as the IT Senior Administrator and made a positive impact on the lives of many. His dedication to his work and commitment to excellence set him apart as a true leader in his field.
Throughout his life, Scott cherished his family above all else. Together, he and his wife, Laurie, built a beautiful life and raised three children, Jessica, Natalie, and Jeremy. Scott adored his only granddaughter Kamryn, his face would light up whenever she was around. He took great joy in watching her grow and thrive.
He had an infectious laugh and sense of humor that he shared with the people he loved. His love of music took him and his family to many live music events. Scott and Laurie celebrated milestones by attending Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, AC/DC, KISS, and Journey concerts. He loved football and was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
Above all else, Scott will be remembered as a beloved father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by his three children, Jessica (Stephen) Ketchum, Natalie Lewis, and Jeremy Lewis; 1 grandchild, Kamryn Lewis; and siblings, Karen (Michael) Groesbeck, Brian Lewis, and Daren (Kim) Lewis.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Merlin Dee and Joy Lewis; and sister, Merlene Dilworth.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday May 1, 2024, at the Idaho Falls Sage Creek Ward chapel (3370 N. 5th West). The family will visit with friends 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday April 30, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the chapel.
