Shirley Jean Conrad, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at her home. She was under the care of her family and Solace Hospice.

Shirley was born on April 12, 1949, in Blackfoot, Idaho to Ronald L. Nugent and Zina Alice Kruse Nugent. She grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1967. She went on to get her associate’s degree in Bookkeeping from Ricks College.

On September 13, 1968, she married her sweetheart, Edwin Conrad. They lived in Blackfoot, Pocatello, Chubbuck, and spent the last 40-plus years in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She worked for Blocks Department Store, Beehive Book Store, and Hymas Photography.

Shirley was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in several areas such as Relief Society President, Stake Sunday School Secretary, Young Women’s Camp Director, and as a temple worker. She served her community at the election office and was an Auxiliary Volunteer at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center where she ran the gift shop.

In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, camping, and traveling to the ocean. Above all her most precious moments were those spent with her family. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Edwin Conrad of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her daughter, Kathryn (Curtis) Martin of Nebraska City, Nebraska; her sons: Scott Conrad of Rigby, Idaho and Jason (Jeannine) Conrad of Grand Forks, North Dakota; and 7 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald L. Nugent; her mother, Zina Alice Nugent; and her brother, Blaine K. Nugent.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the Coltman LDS Church, 12448 North 5th East, under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary. The family will visit with friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2024, and one hour prior to the services both at the church. The interment will be at the Grant Cemetery.
