Obituary
Terry Judy
December 21st, 1941 - June 6th, 2023
Terry Lynne Fisher Judy, 81, of Ammon, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, in her home surrounded by loved ones.
Terry was born on December 21, 1941, in Milford, Utah, to Ira Mitchell Fisher and Mary Elizabeth Terry Fisher and was the second of seven children.
She grew up in Milford and enjoyed living on a farm where she and her siblings cared for rabbits, fed lambs, waded in the ditch, played in the old sheep wagon, built playhouses and planted gardens. She recalls in her journals that some of the happiest years of her life were spent on the farm.
She graduated from Milford High School as Valedictorian and attended Brigham Young University. In the Spring of 1962 she moved to Idaho Falls to live with her Uncle Ray and Aunt Gladys while she worked as a secretary at the Phillips Petroleum company at the Nuclear Reactor Testing Station.
On February 11, 1962, Terry met Doug Judy for the first time at a Stake Conference where she was in the choir and he was a speaker. They began dating and quickly fell in love. They were married on April 27, 1962, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She recalls in her journal that her wedding day was the most perfect and happy day of her life – an answer to her prayers.
The first few years of their marriage were enjoyed on a ranch in Montana where they happily welcomed their first three children. They then moved to a farm just outside of Idaho Falls where they spent the rest of their lives and welcomed 11 more children!
Terry was an exceptional record keeper and really enjoyed doing Family History research. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served in many callings and lived a faith filled life. Her example of faith, endurance, patience, love and kindness will be a beacon of light for her posterity forever.
While raising their large family, Terry taught home kindergarten for many years. In 1985, she started taking college courses and in 1990 she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education at the age of 48. She always had a soft spot in her heart for children and felt strongly that her mission in life was to teach and help children. She taught public kindergarten then 1st grade and enjoyed that for many years. In 2002, she retired from public teaching but continued teaching at Melaleuca’s daycare then at a preschool in her home for a few years. She touched many lives for good.
Terry is survived by her 14 children: Dell Mitchell (Tristin), Teresa (Kenney), Delene (Rodney), Bethia (Boyd), Merrilee (Jeff), Bryce Douglas (Kim), LaDawn (Don), Marinda (Christian), Taletha, Merrill Clifford (April), Marina (Matt), TeraLyn (Shaun), Jarom Ira (Dawn) and Lane Aaron (Mallory); 72 grandchildren with one on the way and 67 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 of her siblings: Tim (Kenna) Fisher, Bart Fisher, and Shelley (Donald) Livingston.
Terry was preceded in death by her parents, Mitch and Beth Fisher; three brothers: Mike, Jan and Rob Fisher, two grandsons: Cody Messenger and David Paul Judy; and her beloved husband, Doug Judy.
