Violet Bernice Call Beery

Violet Bernice Call Beery (93), beloved mother, dedicated wife, treasured grandmother, and cherished member of the community; peacefully passed away, surrounded by loved ones, January 4, 2024, in Ammon, Idaho, following complications from a stroke.

The daughter of Arnold Call and Beatrice (Call) Reisner, Violet was born and raised in Pocatello, ID. She was one of eight children.

Violet had a humble upbringing in Southern Idaho. She loved spending time with her siblings at the family homestead in Chesterfield and remained close with each of them throughout her life.

Violet was a woman of unwavering strength and resilience. She radiated love. Everyone she met was greeted with a wonderful smile and often a warm embrace. Along with her high school sweetheart, William Edward ”Bill” Beery she navigated life’s joys and challenges until he passed away in 2004.

Bill simply adored Violet and the two of them raised seven children, William Jr. “Bill” (Sandy), Kim (Robert Carney), Wade (Monica), Kelly (Evan Bastow), Kathy (Bradley Sparrow), and Jeff (Jennifer). Though Brent left this world in infancy, his spirit remained in their hearts.

In addition to raising a family, Violet and Bill traveled the world together. They went on multiple trips abroad, including vacations to Spain and Morocco. Some of her most treasured memories came in Idaho, at their family cabin in Island Park.

In the years following Bill’s passing, Violet spent most of her time surrounded by her children and grandchildren (along with a maltese terrier named Maggie). Everyone loved spending time with Violet. Whether it was playing cards, enjoying a family party, or just simply being present, she was a tremendous joy to be around.

Violet’s heritage extends beyond her children, to 27 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, leaving an indelible mark on each of their lives. Violet was meticulous in remembering specific details about her grandchildren including birthdays, milestones such as the first day of school, and extracurricular activities. She remembered everyone and loved unconditionally. She will forever be remembered as a beacon of strength, love, and grace.

Violet’s professional journey led her to a fulfilling career as a field engineer at Mountain Bell in Idaho. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, her faith was a guiding force in her life, shaping her values and providing her with fulfillment.

Beyond her professional and spiritual commitments, Violet was an artist. Her passion for painting and pottery allowed her creativity to flourish, leaving behind sought after, beautiful pieces that reflect her vibrant spirit. Though she remained humble, her paintings are truly one of a kind and will be treasured by the family for generations.

A viewing will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 from 6 to 8:00 PM at Wilks Funeral Home, located at 211 W Chubbuck Rd, Chubbuck, ID. The viewing will resume Saturday January 13, 2024 from 10 to 10:45 AM at the church, prior to the service, located at 4773 Independence Ave, Chubbuck, ID. At 11:00 AM, please join in a celebration of Violet’s life, along with family, friends, and those touched by her warmth and kindness, as they gather to honor her memory.

Violet’s legacy of love, resilience, and creativity will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
